The Century DIRECTOR OF EVENTS Position
Core Responsibilities
As Director of Events in addition to planning and coordinating events you will also be required to manage and schedule your team. We are looking for someone with strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Much of the work is done independently, so it's important to be able to meet deadlines and ensure that the event and its preparation take place on-schedule. The Director of Events must keep all insurance paperwork relating to the various vendors and orders. Presence on the day of events will be required to ensure the event runs smoothly so you will need to work most weekends.
A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications is desired but not required for this position. We require that applicants have at least 2 years of event directing experience and at least 2 years experience in managing a team. You must have exceptional computer skills and knowledge.
Some tasks you will have as Director of Events will be:
•Scheduling and conducting meetings with clients to plan events
•Timeline and floor plan creation
•Providing excellent customer service and support to clients
•Placing orders with vendors
•Communicating Banquet Event Orders with kitchen and bar team
•Scheduling your team to execute events while remaining within a given payroll budget
•Delegating tasks to your team
• Conducting employee performance reviews, meetings, and trainings
*This is a salaried position and rate will vary based on experience. This position also includes vacation and sick pay.
Requirements
The following items are required to be accepted for the position no exceptions
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be available at least three weekends a month
Must be able to work full 8 hour shifts on your feet
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Must have at least 2 years of experience in event coordinating
Must have at least 2 years of experience in managing a team
Must have exceptional computer skills and knowledge
